19 of Medvedev's 21 championships have been achieved on hard courts
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden title for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.
Medvedev, a former world number one, has endured a torrid year, managing just one win at the big events and suffering a difficult moment at the American major.
His varied form on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in specific - led to him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with former mentor Gilles Cervara.
Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the past month - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.
It is Medvedev's maiden championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court after that period of that year.
Victory also signifies he has secured twenty-one victories at 21 various events.
"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my two daughters together, so to get a trophy is particularly special," commented ranked player the champion.
"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six championship matches, featuring in Halle in the past months.
Medvedev's counter-punching strategy and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had led commentators to wonder if his skill to perform at the highest level was concluded.
But the player has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to approach the net and play aggressively, backed up by an enhanced service.
The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, securing 4 of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.
The pair swapped breaks in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his maiden professional victory, took control to push for a final set.
The opponent saved four early-game opportunities in a tight third set before the Russian broke to fifteen to secure the win.
Appropriately, the winner clinched the win with a rally at the front of the court, with the Frenchman unable to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
