Exactly four and a half months following Russell Martin's first press conference as Rangers head coach, successor Danny Rohl faced the media at Ibrox for the initial occasion.

The magnitude of the task facing him is widely recognized, considering his predecessor's chaotic and unsuccessful 123-day tenure.

The former Wednesday boss was accompanied by club chairman the chairman, along with the much-criticized duo of sporting director Thelwell and CEO Stewart.

However, what exactly did we learn from the young coach's maiden media outing as Rangers boss?

Rohl's Main Priority - Victory is Everything

One thing emerged clearly from the new coach's initial presentation in front of the local press - he recognizes the need to win matches, and achieve this rapidly.

His predecessor Russell Martin managed just 17 matches and 123 days in charge, so the question arose about how long Rohl believes is reasonable to turn around the underperforming squad.

Although deftly sidestepping a direct answer that might create future pressure, the coach's communication was quite clear.

"Hopefully very quickly," he stated. "This is essential.
"In this business you have not much time. One can talk about long-term vision but it's understood it concerns immediate results and that period is about winning games. That is my requirement.
"Another aspect remains obvious - I need all players to understand how we want to perform. I come back to my primary theme: it's winning, it's attractive and it's together. If you follow this order, I believe that I'll stay for years here."

Pressure is Normal

The previous manager needed security protection to exit the stadium after his last match as manager.

We've witnessed how hostile environments can become at football clubs when results decline. Protests have almost become a regular aspect of game day atmosphere on both sides of Glasgow these days.

As Rangers' youngest ever head coach, the inquiry was posed about which attributes the coach thinks he possesses that would allow him to handle, let alone thrive, in one of the highest-pressure roles in British football?

"In my opinion pressure in football is normal," he commented. "One needs to understand that rapidly.
"I believe some people could reference my age but I have been a decade and a half on this path. I experienced a great chance to be at Bayern Munich and serve as just the assistant coach, but I felt the reality to manage a team and the pressure involved.
"When you start getting results and then certain people claim you need to play attractive soccer. That's the next stage but precisely my intention. I enjoy those expectations and I'm excited about what's ahead."

There were plenty of questions from the media for Thelwell.

Much discussion has concerned the hiring of Robbie Thelwell as recruitment chief, with fans skeptical about his credentials for the role.

Nevertheless, he defended and clarified the decision to bring Thelwell Jnr to the club.

"It remains uncomfortable to listen and optically I believe everyone understood when we took this step to hire him that he would be seen negatively," Thelwell stated.
"The reality of circumstances is that we aim to bring the top players to this club.
"My perspective on his professional path and situation is he required no my assistance in soccer.
"He served at Aston Villa as head scout, he then moved to Norwich as head of scouting and then was elevated to player pathways manager.
"Before we recruited him, multiple Premier League clubs wanted to sign him. Our approach from the beginning of proceedings was discuss with the CEO, Andrew and deputy chairman Paraag Marathe about this matter.
"I remained extremely transparent and I believe Robbie probably experienced a stricter procedure than any other employee by this football club.
"I'm certain is that he will work constantly to achieve success for this football club and I anticipate to him demonstrating that he's going to be an excellent staff member for Rangers."

Additionally, Thelwell supported the signing of striker Youssef Chermiti, who joined the club for a reported initial fee of eight million pounds, having failed to score in 24 appearances for his previous club.

The sporting director who transferred the Portuguese young international to Merseyside from Sporting Lisbon - once more for significant money in a £15m deal.

The question came if he supports his multi-million pound signing, who hasn't yet score in seven outings for the club.

"Yes, completely," Thelwell answered. "I think Youssef Chermiti is a player who's possesses great ability.
"I've never questioned him whatsoever. Again, I think Danny will assist in get the best out of the player.
"It's very early days for him, he remains young talent and naturally with inexperienced players they sometimes take time.
"However, I'm convinced throughout of his time here he'll demonstrate that he's a highly capable footballer."

The CEO Understands Fan Frustration and Anger

Stewart was also in the media firing line, considering the vitriol that has been aimed at him by some club fans.

There was even a banner in the stadium during the last draw with Dundee United suggesting him - and Thelwell - to pack his bags before they were packed for them.

Similar to the football director, the CEO did not avoid the issue.

"I totally understand the frustration and anger that the supporters are feeling because results recently haven't met good enough and no one is satisfied with them," he stated.
"The pain and frustration fans experience is mirrored within the boardroom.
"Recognize that there must exist a channel for that dissatisfaction and in my role, I'm responsible.
"I serve as lightning rod for those and my responsibility as a
